The History of the David Maus Foundation
The David Maus Foundation is a non-profit, philanthropic foundation that focuses on helping children with life-threatening illnesses and their families through contributions to charities in Central Florida.
The David Maus Foundation was founded in 2004 with a group of volunteers passionate about making a difference. In its first year, with its first event, the 1st Annual David Maus Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament, the Foundation donated $20,000 to the Seminole County Boys and Girls Club and $20,000 to Camp Boggy Creek.
Since that first event the Golf Tournament has grown donating to many Central Florida charities dedicated to children. To date the David Maus Foundation has raised over $500,000 through various fundraising events and has underwritten two rooms at the two Ronald McDonald Houses in Central Florida.
In addition to the annual golf tournaments the Foundation has raffled off a Hybrid Camry with 100% of the proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald Houses of Central Florida to sponsor their two largest events, the Clambake and the Share A Night, Light A Light events. In 2008 the David Maus Foundation teamed up with Vince McCann and the WWE to showcase WrestleMania to over 50 Make A Wish kids from each of the 50 states. These kids had a wish to meet a particular wrestler or go to WrestleMania and the David Maus Foundation and the WWE made it happen. A weekend full of fun including a day at Universal Studios and the Bacon, Bagels, and Biceps Brunch completely underwritten by the David Maus Foundation, made it all possible. In addition, the David Maus Foundation made a donation of $45,000 to the Make A Wish Foundation of Central and North Florida.
